Glasgow Airport is introducing a "take care of my bear" tag to be given out to youngsters travelling with a soft toy.

Glasgow Airport’s got a bear problem, so it’s introduced a tag-and-release programme that it hopes will ease the pain for young passengers who misplace their furry friends.

With 21 soft toys left at the airport over the last three months, the airport has introduced special bear tags for young passengers to attach to their soft toys at check in.

Paddington Bear and his tag asking a kind stranger to “please take care of this bear” may have been fiction, but Glasgow Airport’s real-life tags include contact information so that any wandering toys can be reunited with their owners.

Staff said they introduced the tags because they know children can be left “distraught” by losing a cuddly friend.
